Oh mid-January. That time of year where the magic of the holidays is long gone. Not only are we dealing with saying bye-bye to the fun vibe of the holidays, but the time has come where those darn credit card bills have come rolling in. Now it’s time to pay for all those awesome gifts you didn’t care what they cost as long as they made the other person happy. Which is why it’s a great time to address NEW-trition Goal for the New Year #3 this week: CUT FOOD COSTS
We’ve made it to mid-January, that crucial time when people are either going to stay on track with their goals for the new year, or are abandoning them (or perhaps they never got off the ground). My intention of doing this NEW-trition Goals series this month is to continue to give small goals and motivation that can be worked on over the year, not just this week or this month. So if you haven’t had a chance getting to last week’s goal of Cook More at Home, then good news – you’ve got plenty more weeks and days in the year to make it happen. Remember- even one more day of doing something positive can make a difference. This week’s goal is one that many people have on their radars for 2018: MEAL PLANNING AND PREPPING
Mr. E and I are avid beachgoers, which is one of the reasons we chose to live within walking distance to the beach. And while our boardwalk offers some food options, most are either fried or high fat foods. Not to mention the long lines and cost – almost $4 for a slice of pizza is insane! Don’t let the hard work you did all winter be compromised by the foods you eat while wearing your bathing suit. It’s time to invest and a cooler and pack it with beach-friendly treats! If you’ve read PAVE™ the Way for Success for a healthy lifestyle with your significant other, then you know what my #1 rule is: PLANNING. Planning is where we are successful and avoid falling into old habits (or forming less-than-optimal new ones). And there is no greater trend happening right now to promote planning as there is with the Meal Prep Phenomenon. Continue reading “Meal Prep for Success”

And if your significant other also is not into working out, that’s a recipe for a sedentary lifestyle together. However, physical activity plays a major component of a long-term healthy life, so it’s time to get your fitness acts together. Continue reading “Getting Your Fitness Acts Together”
